Kherson region has a chance to become one of the Ukrainian centers for creative industries development
In accordance with the State Strategy for Regional Development for 2021-2027 the state executive bodies are implementing the goal “Increasing the level of competitiveness of regions”, within the framework of which it is planned to spread the practice of establishing centers for creative economy development in cities of various sizes and with different socio-economic conditions.
Establishing the creative economy centers will increase investment attractiveness of the region and contribute to business development in the creative sector of the regional economy.
The centers will stimulate an economic activity in the regions, cultivate smart entrepreneurship and help reduce unemployment and emigration of young people. It is envisaged that the centers will include laboratories, IT schools, micro-manufacturing, creative learning spaces and coworking spaces.
Today, members of the working group, formed by the Prescription of the Head of Kherson Regional State Administration Sergii Kozyr, visited the educational building No. 4 of the Kherson State University located at the 3 Perekopskaya Str. The area of the building that may be the future Kherson creative economy center is 3,334.3 m2.
It should also be noted that in the Development Strategy of the Kherson region for 2021-2027, the Strategic goal “Local economic development taking into account digitalization and innovation and investment processes” provides for a task 1.1.4. “To provide support for the commercialization of science, the development of creative industries”.
Last week, a corresponding application on establishing Kherson creative economy center was sent to the Ministry for Communities and Territory Development of Ukraine for further consideration.
We hope that such a center will be opened in Kherson city in the near future.
