Meeting of the Supervisory Board of the ITC project “Promotion of the output of the trade sector of the fruit and vegetable sector to foreign markets and their inclusion in the value added chain”
On June 20, 2018, in the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held the second meeting of the Supervisory Board in the framework of the project of the International Trade Center (ITC) “Promotion of the output of small and medium-sized enterprises of the fruit and vegetable sector to foreign markets and their inclusion in the value added chain”.
The event was attended by First Secretary of the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine Daniel Gronvius, Regional Trade Advisor, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Office, ITC Armen Zargaryan, National Investment Project Manager Alyona Kolomoytseva, Head of Business Opportunities of the Export Promotion Office Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Maria Shevchuk, representatives of the departments of investment and industrial policy, agro-industrial development of the regional state administration, representatives of Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as producers and processors of the region, who discussed ways to develop fruit and vegetable sector, its competitiveness and ability to integrate into national and global value chains.
Project coordinator Armen Zargaryan and national project manager Alyona Kolomoytseva presented a report on the Project work for the previous period and a plan of events for 2018 – 2019. During the speeches the emphasis was placed on the importance of the market research conducted in the south of Ukraine, as well as training for business support organizations called promote the provision of quality services to small and medium-sized businesses, and the withdrawal of experienced producers and processors to target markets, in particular the European Union markets.
Participants of the meeting shared their experience of visiting Fruit Logistica (Berlin, Germany), GulfFood (Dubai, UAE). During the meeting was announced the following exhibitions and trainings schedule for 2018-2019, including participation in the events of the forum “AGROPORT South Kherson-2018”, raising the issue of development of enterprises and export of products by obtaining international certificates such as GLOBAL GAP, HACCP, etc. .
